Pick Up Your Cross

When a person carried a cross in ancient times, there was no turning back—he was walking toward his execution. He had surrendered all claims to comfort, rights, and personal ambition. His path was set, and his will was laid down. So when Jesus calls us to take up our cross and follow Him, how are we responding? Are we truly laying aside our own plans, comforts, and desires to walk in full surrender to His will?
